7/8″ connectors, also known as 7/8-inch connectors, are a type of RF (radio frequency) coaxial connectors commonly used in high-frequency applications. They are larger in size compared to other popular RF connectors like BNC or SMA connectors.

Circular 7/8“-connectors manufacturing initated by Katlax as a result of the requirements of the American market. In addition, to over moulded cable connectors, the product portfolio as well as flange connectors with strands or for direct PCB assembly.

In order to meet the increased demands for higher power transmission, the product portfolio of the 7/8” connectors has been developed with new variants of connectors over moulded and sockets with wire connection. The most common type of 7/8″ connector is the 7/8″ EIA (Electronics Industries Alliance) connector.

Features

– Brass nickel plated coupling nut

– 7/8″ connectors are typically used for coaxial cables with an outer diameter of 7/8 inches (22.23 mm).

– They have a threaded coupling mechanism, which allows for a secure connection and minimizes signal loss.

– The 7/8″ EIA connector is available in both male and female versions, and it supports a wide frequency range, typically up to several gigahertz (GHz).

– These connectors are known for their robust construction and reliable performance. They provide good electrical conductivity and shielding, which helps minimize signal degradation and interference.

Benefits

– High power transmission

– Degree of protection IP67

– 7/8” Sensor/Actuator Cordsets and Connectors enable the quick connection of sensors, switches, and other devices.

– It has a characteristic impedance of 50 ohms and is widely used in RF applications.

Applications

– Automation technology

– Industrial interfaces

– Agricultural and construction machines

– Machine manufacturing

– Process control

– Transport industry

– They are often used in high-power transmission systems, such as base stations for wireless communication networks or in broadcasting applications.
