Katlax’s connectivity products now include moulded M12 male and female straight connectors that have 360 degree shielding and can transmit data even in extremely demanding environments.

Katlax now offers fully shielded M12 cables with a braided shield connected to the coupling nut. This design purportedly provides 360° protection of the connector and the cable against electromagnetic interference, and gives users fully shielded and secure signal connections. These M12 plug-in connectors and cables are used for applications in harsh industrial environments – ideal for Ethernet connections in class of protection IP 67 between devices on the machine and in the switching cabinet, or in moving cable carriers.

Product features include an operating temperature range of -25 C to +85 C, high shock and vibration resistance, and IP67 ratings approvals. Capable of withstanding high-pressure/steam-jet cleaning, the male and female connectors can be used even in the harshest environmental conditions. Already including straight connectors with 360 degree shielding, the Katlax can now provide an ideal M12 connection cable for actuators/sensors, passive distributors or Profibus/Ethernet modules in almost any installation scenario.

The molded body and housing are made of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU). The insert is either of the same material (Profibus cordsets) or PA66. The contacts are gold plated. The molded cables, made of PUR or PVC, are available in lengths of 2, 5, 10 and 15 meters.
